O melhor épico original!

Esse livro é a tradução direta do Das Nibelungenlied (a canção dos nibelungos) do germânico antigo para o inglês moderno, respeitando a estrutura de versos e estrofes do original.

É um livro originalmente escrito por volta de 1200 d.C., ou seja, é verdadeiramente medieval e retrata bem as crenças e modo de vida da nobreza da época. É interessante pela forma de contar a história em forma de poema.

Das Nibelungenlied inspirou Tolkien a escrever "O Senhor dos Anéis", o músico Richard Wagner a fazer "O Anel dos Nibelungos" e muito da literatura épica atual.

Com certeza o melhor livro do gênero, extremamente recomendado para amantes da Idade Média
