Tom and Ryan have been best friends for the last eight years, and married for two. Then Tom gets mugged and ends up in the hospital with a head injury and amnesia: he doesn’t remember his marriage with Ryan, just their friendship and the day they became lovers. While he’s recovering he discovers his marriage wasn’t all red roses, movie sessions with cuddles and chocolate (is there anything better? hehe)… actually there were some serious problems (insecurities, negligence, cheating…) and he doesn’t have a frigging idea where he did wrong… But he remembers and ‘tcharan!’ happy end. They solve their disencounters (kind of). There are some books, that you start wanting to choke the couple ‘cause of their stupidity, but I really liked this one: Tom and Ryan are cute together.
What I liked about this book: shows that nobody is perfect, that in a relationship you can’t expect perfection from your partner and that dialogue is the key to success: when the characters talked about their fears, doubts, etc., they reached an agreement. Another thing, you have to give as much as you receive… =D so, try your best to make your partner happy, but don’t let it pass if s/he is not meeting your needs, that is, don’t just do everything your boyfriend wants while he doesn’t move a finger to please you (that’s what I think anyway.) Last: you can’t let the blame fall upon your partner’s shoulders. Take your goddamned part of it, like Tom did: when he remembered his actions, he saw he also had done wrong and hurt Ryan.
What I didn’t like about the book: just 103 pages? WTH? Maybe AJ Rose could have cultivated the story a little more… Some parts could’ve been more elaborated, with more details. This is a read-on-the-ride-home type of book: you read it really fast, but it’s worth your attention.
Now, the ‘blurb’ talks about epic friendship and epic romance, but I didn’t find a single epic thing in this plot…
~ Gee, more things I liked than disliked. Guess it's 4 stars.
Ps. This book – because of all that amnesia thing – remembers a lot of Home Again (Home series #1) by C Cardeno (that I totally recommend, read it!)
