Ahab não deixou o passado arder em chamas

"So let the past now burn down in flames" (Seasons - Dragonforce), essa é uma música que eu amo muito, cuja principal ideia é deixar o passado para trás, pois as estações mudam, e é para deixarmos o passado para trás e olhar para um futuro a frente.

Como o titulo da resenha diz, nosso querido Ahab não fez isso. Ele ficou remoendo o passado quando foi atacado pela primeira vez por Moby Dick, uma criatura da natureza, e isso acabou gerando uma obsessão doentia por vingança. Tudo o que ele pensava era caçar e matar a Cachalote (que convenhamos, só tava se defendendo, por instinto). Além disso, todos a sua volta foram afetados por esse desejo.

Eu acho muito valido que a pessoa deva olhar para o passado, mas principalmente aprender com ele, para olhar para frente, e observar as consequências de suas ações, e esse é um livro que demonstra como a obsessão por um fato que normalmente você deve aprender a lidar, pode acabar com o seu psicológico.

Algumas considerações quanto a leitura que vale ser destacadas aqui:

1 - O livro é difícil de ler, não imaginava que eu iria encontrar um autor tão descritivo quanto Victor Hugo tão cedo. Me enganei, Herman Melville conseguiu essa proeza.
2 - Aconselho que se for pegar a versão em inglês, que saiba que o nível desse livro é alto, por causa de ser bem descritivo, então eu recomendo fazer primeiro uma leitura em português (não fiz isso e apanhei um bocado)
3 - Vale lembrar que vários momentos vão ser monótonos, pois a ideia do autor era mostrar esse clima durante uma viagem marítima (na época que ele foi escrito).
4 - Saiba que terão vários capítulos que vão te querer ser biólogo, pois é basicamente uma aula de biologia sobre baleias.

Bom, espero que quem for se aventurar nos mares atrás de uma Cachalote branca, se divirta com essa leitura.
