Também é notável sua habilidade em delinear as expectativas e a evolução das relações neste tipo de rede. Através dos olhos de Leila, o autor encara o dilema entre a vida real e virtual, que podem divergir, ganhando independência. A metáfora de "ser virtualmente outra pessoa" traz uma nova percepção de quão longe podem ir as relações entre pessoas que não se veem. Moggach lhe chama de volta ao mundo real, sacudindo Leila entre os mundos virtual e físico, até que você comece a ser perguntar qual deles é de fato o real.
