O livro é narrado em primeira pessoa, portanto só há o ponto de vista da protagonista.

AVISO: contém abuso físico, mental e sexual.

O início do livro é empolgante, mas depois começa a descer a ladeira até que tropeça na beira do precipício da monotonia até o fim. Apesar disso, a autora até que acertou ao descrever o estresse pós-traumático da protagonista (na minha opinião de leiga). O desenvolvimento dessa personagem foi a única coisa positiva desse livro. Parece que a autora concentrou toda a energia e critividade em Yelena e esqueceu de apresentar o universo em que a trama se passa.
