Dennis Wepman
Dennis Wepman is a free-lance writer with eighteen volumes of biography, history, and art and literary criticism to his credit and has contributed to numerous others. He has also written for many periodicals and reference books. He has served as contributing editor of Contemporary Graphic Artists and ArtExpo Preview, managing editor of Artist Spectrum, and was the cultural affairs editor of the New York Daily News until that desk was closed. Among the encyclopedias devoted to comic art to which he has contributed are Historia de los Comics (Barcelona, Spain), Encyclopedia of American Comics, 100 Years of American Newspaper Comics, World Encyclopedia of Comics, and World Encyclopedia of Cartoons. Mr. Wepman has taught English, linguistics, and popular culture at the University of Miami and Queens College of the City University of New York. He now serves as curator of art for the Karpeles Museum in Newburgh, New York.
