Peste, bichinhos de estimação ou alimento

Este é um livro que mexe com a cabeça de quem o lê, James Barrat faz contraponto ao mundo cor-de-rosa criado nos livros sobre IA de Ray Kurzweil, e nos mostra do futuro que assustava Stephen Hawking, e assusta Elon Musk.

A superinteligência artificial (ASI, em inglês), parece fadada a acontecer. Um ente (ser?) milhares de vezes mais inteligente que o homem, capaz de se duplicar e inventar coisas que hoje são apenas especulações.

Daí a provocação. O homem trata uma larga parte dos animais menos evoluídos --ditos irracionais-- como alimento, bichos de estimação ou pestes. Como seremos nós, ou nossos descendentes, tratados pela próxima 'vida' a dominar a Terra, e talvez o espaço...
