Edited by Darren Aronofsky, The Fountain is not so much a tie-in or a behind-the-scenes look at the film, but rather a thoughtful meditation on the film's provocative themes of life and death and its singular visuals.

Eu sou bem suspeita para falar sobre "The Fountain": o filme "Fonte da Vida" é um dos mais belos que eu já vi, seja em enredo, seja em fotografia.
Darren Aronofsky, diretor e roteirista do filme, escreveu, junto dele, esta graphic novel.
Aqui temos um casal, Tomas e Izzi, que se encontram em três diferentes tempos e espaços: a Espanha de 1532, durante a Inquisição Espanhola; o "presente", em 2005; e o caminho até Xibalba, uma estrela próxima a explodir, no ano 2463.
O desejo pela imortalidade na cultura maia, nas buscas da ciência do século XXI e na meditação e transcendência através do cosmos é uma mistura pouco improvável, porém incrível.
A arte de Kent Williams é bem diferente daquilo que geralmente vemos em graphic novels, e apesar de não ser o meu estilo favorito, se encaixa bem aqui, com imagens não tão contornadas, e fazendo uso de tons bem amarelados - assim como temos na adaptação cinematográfica.
"The Fountain" é uma história riquíssima sobre um amor indestrutível, capaz de aquecer e destruir o seu coração ao virar de cada página.
