This leaflet is a summary of the essence and the most practical points of our book Positive thinking and karmic gardening. You could print it for free in our website: www.atman-yoga.org. The purpose of this book is to help people being conscious about the fact that what we think as our reality is just a projection of ourselves, of our mind. We are constantly designing our life and the world. What we see does not come from the outside world to us project reality through our minds by the seeds we have already sown. Our reality is the fruits of the seeds we have already sown, helping or harming others. We are responsible for everything we see and feel, and therefore the only way to change the world is by discovering and changing ourselves first.
Karmic Gardening - How to design our reality

“The harvest of the seeds we sow in relation with others is our reality.” “Other points that also help us to fertilize the grounds of our subconscious are: the company of spititually evolved people; to develop the ability to concentrate the mind; auto-suggestions; and mantras. Also the positive impressions we allow coming through our senses, like these ones we get from nature, arts, rituals and spiritual art.” “Any act or omission, speech or thought, produces a reaction similar to the original action, word or thought.” “Everything that happens in our lives is an exact match of the way we have treated others.” “It would also be an omission, for example, having a special talent and not using them to do anything good for the world.” “There is a part of our mind that works like a camcorder (where the lenses are the senses), that records everything we see, hear, feel, smells and taste, but mainly all we think, say and do for others, good or bad. When you see yourself helping someone, this is a seed that is recorded in the subconscious. This seed stays in our mind, growing exponentially like any other plant. At some point it grows high enough for the fruits to resurface the consciousness, creating and giving colour to our world. Each fruit of these seeds are distinctive moments of our reality - like a slide -, and when they occur, they give us a sensation of continuity, like in a movie. In other words, how we create our reality is through the seeds (thoughts, word, actions and omissions) that we have plant with others in our subconscious previously.” “This means that we can make anything happens in our reality, making it real for someone else first.” “The cause of all suffering in the world are selfish actions; and all pleasure is derived from the generosity and love” “The law of karma works like a snowball. When we plant positive seeds, its positive results encourage us to continue sowing good seeds; and vice versa.” “In most cases, we must plant the opposite seed to that our instincts dictate. That was the reason for Jesus to say “whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also”. The only way to stop a sownward spiral is to help others, generating unilateral action ourselves, even if the others refuse to help us.” “Our means should be as noble as our ends” - Gandhi “When we understand that our success depends on the success of these four echoes, we expand our concept of the self, we feel we have more mouths to feed, more feet to put shoes on, more lives to dignify.” “When we are acting in harmony with the laws that create the world we understand that to be successful in our lives we must give up our own self and give ourselves to others. In other words, we must try to help others being successful. When we really understand this, we eliminate the deceptive line that separates us from others and begin to feel that people who are creating the echo of our success is also our own selves, as the others are us and we are them, like when a mother has a son and conveys the sense of self to the baby, and therefore what happens to the child is like if it happened to her. Bearing in mind that when we are acting in accordance with this law everything starts with ourselves (we are tho ones who should take the first step), it is very important for the sake of everybody and the world, that we first ensure we are well too.” “If we do not eliminate our problems from the source, they will reappear again and again, perhaps in different ways.” “Our problems are the alarms that show us what we need to improve in order to evolve. So they are our friends.” “we are wrong about where things come from. For example, we believe we can benefit at the expense of other’s suffering” “selfless service to humanity.” “Any action of body, speech and thought we do based on ignorance produces a similar reaction to action”. Buddhism. “We harvest what we planted”. Jesus. “All you want for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law of the prophets”. Matthew 7,12. “Look, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and he who sows generously will also reap abundantly”. Corinthians.” “And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise”. Confucio.” “It teaches us that it is possible to create and design our own destiny.” “start focusing on doing good deeds and then refine our intentions.”
