Um jeito diferente

O livro conta a história do Alaska desde sua formação geológica até o sec.XX através de personagens que viveram ou poderiam ter vivido em suas terras geladas, começando pela vida de uma fêmea de mamute e passando pelas primeiras expedições humanas.
Gostei muito das primeiras histórias e não conseguia mais largar o livro, mas conforme me aproximava do último século, fui perdendo o interesse. Mas acho que não posso culpar o livro por achar a história contemporânea menos interessante... =/
