A story about courage, solitude and survival

This book is about an indigenous girl named Karana and the difficulties she had to overcome while trying to survive alone at the Island of the Blue Dolphins, after the people from her village left her behind. I think it was an interesting story, though sometimes monotonous and too detailed.
