Bem como diz o titulo, o personagem principal da história é um menino, chamado James.
No começo da narrativa, o menino passa por situações desagradáveis. Seus pais morrem em um acidente esquisito, e então, ele tem que ir morar com suas tias malvadas.
Numa noite, as tias malvadas o trancam fora de casa. Nessa ocasião, aparece um homem vestindo verde, e dá uma poção ao menino, dizendo que aquilo iria mudar a vida de James. Infelizmente o menino derruba o saquinho com elementos mágicos no chão, perto de um pessegueiro que nunca deu nenhum fruto.
Ele pensou que estava perdido, que sua vida iria para sempre ficar deplorável.
Porém um pêssego brotou. E começou a crescer, mais, mais e mais, até ficar do tamanho da casa das tias.
Então, James entrou dentro do pêssego, e lá, encontrou vários insetos, que haviam crescido junto com o fruto e ficado do tamanho do menino.
A partir daí, James fará amizades para a vida inteira, e passará por aventuras inimagináveis em cima do pêssego com os insetos, como: sair rolando pela cidade, navegar pelo mar e até voar.
Livro muito fofo, vale a pena ler.
English:
As well as the title says, the main character of the story is a boy, named James.
At the beginning of the narrative, the boy goes through unpleasant situations. His parents die in a strange accident, and then, he has to move in with his evil aunts.
One night, like bad aunts they lock him out of the house. On that occasion, a man appears wearing green, and gives the boy a potion, saying that it would change James' life. Unfortunately the boy drops the bag with magic elements on the floor, next to a peach tree that never produced any fruit.
He mended that he was lost, that his life would forever be deplorable.
But a peach sprouted. And it started to grow, more, more and more, until it was the size of the aunts' house.
Then, James went inside the peach, and there, he found several insects, which joined the crescent together with the fruit and became the boy's size.
From then on, James will make lifelong friendships, and go on unimaginable adventures on top of the peach with the insects, such as: rolling around the city, sailing the sea and even flying.
Very cute book, worth reading.
