Ransom Riggs cria um mundo mágico e sombrio, nos traz para sua narrativa e nos faz sentir parte da história, em que torcemos, nos preocupamos e lutamos junto com os personagens. Por meio de uma breve descrição aliada as inúmeras fotos, o autor é capaz de transportar-nos para diferentes lugares retratados no livro, nos faz querer conhecer esses lugares e principalmente as pessoas que passam por eles.
