Vigésimo-sexto volume da série Discworld e quinto do Morte.

O monges do Tempo reaparecem para marcar o possível Fim do Mundo. Tal acontece porque os Auditores contrataram um humano para criar um relógio que pára o tempo, logo O Morte precisa de alguém para impedir essa tragédia enquanto ele próprio se prepara para a mortandade.

Susan Sto Helit brilha nesse livro como uma professora de crianças e mantém a perspectiva pelo resto da história, especialmente ao lidar com o Jonathan, o joalheiro, e todas as viagens por tempo e dimensão que ambos passam.

O destaque fica para a intereção de Morte com os outros Cavaleiros do Apocalipse que reaparecerão em Belas Maldições, e que não querem de forma alguma fazer parte dessa (nova) destruição.
