Keith Green
Keith Gordon Green nasceu em 21 de Outubro de 1953, em Sheepshead Bay, Nova York, vindo de uma família de artistas. Aprendeu a tocar seu primeiro instrumento musical, um ukulele, algo semelhante ao violão, com apenas três anos de idade. Keith começou a tocar piano com cinco anos de idade e a compor aos oito anos. Compunha, interpretava e tocava piano, guitarra, contrabaixo e percussão. Seus talentos foram observados por grandes programas e jornais americanos da época, como Arthur Laurents e o Los Angeles Times. Em Fevereiro de 1965, contando apenas com doze anos de idade, já dispunha de quarenta canções originais sob sua carreira. Lançou nesse ano seu primeiro disco “Cheese And Crackers” pela Decca Records, uma das maiores gravadoras do mundo, comprada depois pela Polygram e que tinha nomes como Louis Armstrong, Elvis Presley, Rolling Stones e George Harrison. Com este disco, Keith tornou-se o mais jovem membro da Sociedade Americana de Autores, Compositores e Publicadores (ASCAP). A Decca Records havia planejado fazer de Green um ídolo ‘teen’, recebendo regularmente os jovens pré-adolescentes em shows populares de televisão. Com o passar dos anos, a fama prematura do garoto Keith Green se dissolveu, apesar dele continuar compondo e aparecendo em algumas apresentações de TV.
