O livro tem um bom conteúdo, mas a forma como as informações são apresentadas poderia ter sido melhor. Ao dividir o texto por temas, o autor acaba retomando assuntos já tratados e deixando a narrativa pouco repetitiva.

No geral, é abordado todo os aspectos dos quartéis: justificativa militar para suas construções, materiais e mãos de obra utilizada, camuflagem, funcionamento (sistemas de ventilação, eletricidade, etc), quem vivia/frequentava esses locais, e se foram abandonados, capturados, demolidos, e como estão hoje, incluindo algumas informações turísticas.

O conteúdo visual do livro é excelente, com mapas de localização, fotos raras do período da guerra, esquemas e plantas dos bunkers, gráficos com dados sobre as construções (materiais e força de trabalho utilizada) e fotos atuais.

Para os leitores já habituados aos acontecimentos gerais da Segunda Guerra, o resumo/ linha do tempo diluído no texto pode deixar a leitura um pouco menos interessante. A título de pesquisa é um ótimo livro para conseguir informações.
