Esse livro tem como objetivo apresentar 50 mulheres que foram muito importantes para a ciência, onde todas elas foram pioneiras e fizeram diversas descobertas de muita importância nas mais diferentes áreas de estudo.
Infelizmente, podemos constatar que a grande maioria delas sofreram diversas dificuldades, e até mesmo perseguições, para conseguirem fazer seus trabalhos e estudos. Porém, apesar disso não desistiram de seus sonhos e hoje servem de inspiração para outras mulheres.
