Incredible!
This book is just perfect. This is a compilation of three short stories, all of them about Dunk and egg, Dunk is a hedge Knight and egg is his squire. The stories are well made, and are unique. Dunk is not the most clever nor the most skilled warrior, he is just strong and really tall, but Martin makes him likeable, it is easy to relate with his struggles. He is just a normal person that did not got to live a lot with the nobility of Westeros, and then when he get egg as his squire he just has to deal with a lot of them, much of it thanks to egg being actually a heir to their to the iron throne and the seven kingdoms, and that premise makes way to a lot of interesting encounters, but keep in mind that most of the time the end will not be what you expect, the realistic way in what Martin writes make the end be the most likely not the best for the characters, but of course they always find a way to overcome the challenges. Talking about the book presentation; this might be my favorite book, it is just beautiful, the amount of writing and art is almost 50/50 and the illustrations are well made, without color just the good and old pencil, and the cover is gorgeous as well, all the read letters glow in the light. Consider reading it soon after Fire and Blood, although they are not connected directly, you get a lot of references from one in the other. The only problem that I had was with the spine, but that is normal, after all you have to open the book to read it, and that left its markes. 10/10
