Van Vogt é um dos grandes escritores de ficção-científica do grande panteão existente. E este livro, parte da saudosa coleção argonauta, é uma história simples e interessante sobre uma expedição humana que atravessa as galáxias explorando e encontrando locais e seres desconhecidos. Um outro aspecto interessante nele é uma discussão subjacente entre a especialização e compartimentação do conhecimento e uma visão mais ampla e generalista do saber. É uma boa história com um toque de space-opera, ao estilo Perry Rhodan.
