Clare Swatman nasceu em 1975 no condado de Essex, Inglaterra. Estudou francês e espanhol na faculdade, mas, para sua vergonha, mal fala uma palavra dessas línguas hoje em dia. Ela é jornalista há tanto tempo que nem se lembra desde quando. Além de escrever para várias publicações femininas, edita uma revista em Hertfordshire, onde mora com o marido e os dois filhos.
