Josef Pieper
Josef Pieper (1904-1997) doutorou-se em Filosofia em 1928 pela Universidade de Münster. De 1928 a 1932 foi assistente no Forschungsinstitut für Organisationslehre und Saziologie. De 1932 a 1940 publicou muitos livros, diversos deles proibídos e apreendidos pelo regime nazista. Foi catedrático de Antropologia Filosófica pela Universidade de Münster, doutor honoris causa em Teologia pelas Universidades de Munique e Münster e em Filosofia pela Universidade de Eichstaett. Foi professor visitante em diversas universidades dos Estados Unidos, Índia, Japão e Canadá.
