With reason, we go beyond what we can sense. With emotions, we go beyond what we can reason. If, and only if, we take the time to listen to our deep states of mind, to our divine instincts, and then have the courage to follow them. And bring our souls with us wherever we go, whenever we come back. We have a word for this: Emotions. But not enough words to explain it. We will never have enough words for such a task. Therefore, possibly, the only way to expose our emotions is through poetry. In poetry each word can, in mysterious ways, by combining with other words, in mysterious ways, allow us to travel through our emotions, and make it possible for new emotions, sometimes unknown, to take over our souls and minds. That's what the words in this book are trying to do, in their own emotional way. Like in the simple words of love, in which there is love and there is more. There are emotions. EMOTIONS is a poetry book written in two languages. English and Portuguese. All poems are original, for it is not possible to translate a poem without losing the emotions that are embedded in the words. Two people may share emotions, but they will never be exactly the same. Likewise, for words.

Pierre Soter
Pierre Sóter is my pen name. Passion, for me, is a constant in life. Poetry, too, entered my world of passions. And today I read poetry daily, and write often. I’m willing to share it with the world. Life restarts at dawn and with it I started my writing. DAWN, “that part of the day that briefly follows night”, was published in the Summer of 2017 by Adelaide Books. And a second book has already been released with more EMOTIONS. And EMOÇÕES too, because I write in English and Portuguese, my mother tongue. DAWN and EMOTIONS/EMOÇÕES are the first books in a book series of Poems and Thoughts. And I’m already working on the books that follow, which will be released in 2018. My daily emotions will be, to a large extent, replaced by concerns about the world we live in, by REFLECTIONS and REFLEXÕES on its state and how it may become better, IT MAY BE BETTER.
