North of Boston is a 1914 poetry collection by Robert Frost. It includes two of his most famous poems, "Mending Wall" and "After Apple-Picking". Most of the poems resemble short dramas or dialogues.It is also called a book of people because most of the poems deal with New England themes and Yankees farmers. Ezra Pound has written a review of this collection in 1914. North of Boston was published by David Nutt. Following its success, Henry Holt and Company republished Frost's first book, A Boy's Will, in 1915. The New York Times said in a review, "In republishing his first book after his second, Mr. Robert Frost has undertaken the difficult task of competing with himself." Robert Lee Frost
Considerado um dos mais importantes poetas dos Estados Unidos do final do século XIX e século XX, Frost é conhecido como o “poeta da natureza” e fez parte da chamada “sad generation”, a geração melancólica, cujas principais características são a tristeza e a descrença no futuro. O reconhecido poeta, cujas obras tinham como tema principal à natureza e tratavam das diferenças entre as pessoas, faleceu em 29 de janeiro de 1963, num final de vida marcada pela simplicidade e dedicada à plantação de maçãs e ao costume de escrever um poema por noite. Foi vencedor de quatro prêmios Pulitzer.
