O livro é delicado ao retratar o luto, a fé e a imaginação de uma criança com apenas 10 anos, possuindo um ponto de vista infantilizado para uma história extremamente madura. Uma obra com personagens autênticos e favoravelmente construídos— que nos sensibilizam com seus sentimentos e trajetórias, repleto daquela nostalgia de quem acompanhou de perto a notoriedade da adaptação na época. Definitamente, uma experiência extraordinária que todos deveriam conhecer.
