Melina Marchetta
O primeiro livro de Melina Marchetta, Looking For Alibrandi, foi publicado em 1992 e virou um filme lançado em 2000, com roteiro da própria autora. Ela deu aulas de Inglês e História por 10 anos e durante esse tempo, seu segundo livro -- Saving Francesca-- foi publicado. Seguido por On the Jellicoe Road (Na Estrada Jellicoe aqui no Brasil). Em 2006 ela deixou o magistério para se dedicar completamente aos livros. Seu primeiro livro de fantasia, Finnikin of the Rock foi publicado em 2008 e em 2010 The Piper's Son, um livro que acompanha os personagens de Saving Francesca, foi lançado. Ela escreveu um livro infantil chamado The Gorgon in the Gully, ele é parte do Puffin Pocket Money series. Seus livros já foram publicados em mais de 17 idiomas. Melina vive em Sydney onde ela dedica tempo integral à sua escrita.
