Disturbed tinha tudo para ser um thriller cinco estrelas. A cena de abertura deixa essa sensação. Contudo, a história se perde um pouco em seu desenvolvimento, fazendo - a meu ver - digressões desnecessárias. A relação Chelsea/Boyd faz com que o tom do livro pareça mudar de um bom thriller para um simples romance, no sentido prosaico do termo. Um romance complicado, cheio de mistérios (desvendando na revelação cliché da traição), mas ainda assim um mero romance. O final tenta retomar o tom de thriller e tenta também surpreender o leitor com um grande plot twist. Apesar disso, esta foi a primeiríssima vez em que adivinhei o final de um livro de suspense, mesmo com toda a minha experiência de leitura, e não me envergonho em admitir isso.
