Josh Malerman, conhecido por Caixa de pássaros, nos entrega em Inspection uma história de ficção tão absurda e tão palpável, que é possível imaginá-la acontecendo.
26 garotos nomeados se A a Z vivem em uma torre de um lado da floresta desde que nasceram, conhecidos como Alphabet boys. 26 garotas, também nomeadas de A a Z vivem em outra torre do outro lado da floresta desde que nasceram, conhecidas como Letter Girls.
Segundo a organização do experimento, o sexo oposto é uma distração, eliminando-o, poderiam se ter gênios. E é isso que querem provar com um experimento.
A primeira metade do livro trata da vida na torre dos garotos, focando no personagem J, que desconfia que já algo além da vida que ele está acostumado. A segunda metade, mostrar K, uma garota que, mesmo na outra torre, começa a ter esses pensamentos e decide se a aventurar pela floresta.
O foco da narrativa de Malerman é mostrar os pensamentos e o psicológico dessas crianças, o que elas pensam, como elas são.
Quando estava chegando nas páginas finais e não vi nenhum caminho para o desfecho, achei que Josh não iria conseguir dar um final bom, mas ele conseguiu.
O livro mostra os eventos do clímax em desfecho nas últimas 20 páginas apenas, mas é um livro que te prende e que te faz querer ler mais e mais (característico de Malerman). E tem um final muito bom, com a marca de Josh.
Recomendo bastante.
