Charles Simic
Charles Simic nasceu em Belgrado, na Sérvia, em 1935, e viveu nos Estados Unidos desde 1954. Um dos grandes nomes da poesia norte-americana, tem dezenas de livros de poemas e coletâneas de artigos e ensaios sobre literatura, volumes de memórias, além de traduções de poetas do Leste Europeu. Foi professor emérito de literatura americana e criação literária na Universidade de New Hampshire, onde lecionava desde 1973. Ele recebeu o Pulitzer de poesia em 1990 e foi poeta laureado dos EUA entre 2007 e 2008.
