Eu amo quando Kendra Elliot e Melinda Leigh colaboram em uma nova série, então fiquei muito animada para começar essa aqui. Estou feliz em dizer que Close to the Bone foi uma leitura rápida e intrigante!

Kendra Elliot fez um trabalho fantástico ao descrever e estabelecer o cenário de Widow’s Island e sua história. Eu amei o quão complexo e interessante era, bem como um pouco paranormal, e como a ilha abraçou seu passado. Foi uma visão única e eu realmente amei a maneira como essa história se relacionava com o mistério principal.

O enredo foi bem executado e resolvido, embora um pouquinho apressado no final. Eu sempre gosto quando um caso tem uma conexão pessoal com um dos personagens principais, então gostei muito do suspense em torno do desaparecimento de Samantha. Tenho esperanças de que isso seja abordado ao longo da série e mal posso esperar para ler sobre isso!

A pequena centelha de romance também foi muito boa. Eu gostei de como não era o foco da história, especialmente porque se tratava de uma novela. Mesmo assim, a maneira como Elliot desenvolveu Cate e Henry, assim como seu relacionamento, foi muito bem feita. Estou ansiosa para ver mais deles nos próximos volumes.
