Javier Marías Franco
Escritor, tradutor e editor espanhol. Nasceu em Madrid em 20 de setembro de 1951 e faleceu em 11 de setembro de 2022 devido a uma pneumonia bilateral em decorrência da covid-19. Considerado o principal escritor espanhol da segunda metade do século XX e início do século XXI, ocupava a cadeira R da Real Academia Española (RAE) desde 2008. Formado em Filosofia e Letras, com especialização em Filologia Inglesa, pela Universidade Complutense de Madrid, foi professor de Literatura Espanhola e Teoria da Tradução na Universidade de Oxford (1983-1985), no Wellesley College de Massachusetts (1984) e na Universidade Complutense de Madrid (1986-1990). É autor de contos, ensaios, crônicas e 16 romances, entre eles "Coração tão branco" (1992), "Amanhã, na batalha, pensa em mim" (1994), "Seu rosto amanhã" (2002-2007), "Os enamoramentos" (2011), "Assim começa o mal" (2014), "Berta Isla" (2017) e "Tomás Nevinson" (2021). Era Cavaleiro da Ordem das Artes e das Letras da França.
