A Most Inconvenient Marriage

Gosto muito de romance de época histórico americano. O fato histórico, fazenda, cavalos, cowboys… ahh os cowboys! A história se passa com o fim da guerra de Secessão. Apesar de não ter a guerra como foco, serve de base para os acontecimentos. Gostei muito de ler.

Abigail é enfermeira da guerra civil, e conhece Jeremias, um capitão que está prestes a morrer, então ele a convence a se casar com ele, para depois de sua morte ela vá para suas terras, cuidar dos cavalos, mãe e, principalmente, de sua irmã que está doente. Como ela não tem nada a perder, ela aceita.

Já na fazenda, depois de algum tempo, depois de dar a notícia da morte de Jeremias e estar se dando bem com a família e na fazenda, o verdadeiro Jeremias aparece e não gosta nada dessa história. Isso porque ela está cuidando da fazenda e ele já tem sua prometida. Aliás, sonha em se casar com ela a anos.

Lógico que a coisa não será fácil. Nem fácil, nem simples. Muitas coisas acontecem, não só com o casal. Os personagens secundários são ativos, e são ótimos, e o pano de fundo com assaltantes ameaçadores é instigante.

E foi isso.
