Anos depois de Anakin Skywalker ser aceito para treinar com os jedi, ele agora é um jovem promissor no caminho que foi escolhido por ele. Aprendiz de Obi-Wan Kenobi, algumas vezes o relacionamento entre eles se torna tumultuoso, mas ambos se dã muito bem. Quando Padmé Amidala, agora uma senadora, tem a vida posta em perigo, os dois jedi são incumbidos de protegê-la, e essa convivência vai trazer a tona sentimentos proibidos... Ao mesmo tempo, o lado sombrio da Força cresce cada vez mais, nublando a visão dos jedi para o mestre Sith escondido nas sombras, manipulando todos a cair em uma guerra de grandes proporções com consequências tristes para todos os envolvidos...

Apesar dos fãs só recentemente estarem apreciando a trilogia prequel de Star Wars e do segundo filme, principalmente o romance, estar sendo melhor visto só agora, eu sempre gostei da história. Essa novelização dá uma nova visão sobre a história toda, principalmente nos aspectos chave da vida de Anakin que mais tarde levarão o jedi promissor a se tornar Darth Vader: a morte da mãe e seu amor por Padmé (as minhas partes favoritas são as relacionadas a mãe dele). Novelização totalmente indicada.
