Esse é um daqueles livros que não faço ideia de como descobri, mas sei que me chamou a atenção pelo título. Afinal, a se considerar que gosto de organizar minhas viagens com roteiros literários, não preciso explicar porque um nome como esse me fisgaria de cara.

Literary Places é literalmente o que promete: um guia de lugares reais que aparecem em histórias famosas. São 25 locais espalhados pelo mundo todo - e isso é notável, porque volumes do tipo costumam se concentrar na Europa e Estados Unidos -, num texto leve que costura informações das obras indicadas com os locais escolhidos para representá-los. Ao final, minha sensação era de curiosidade por ler as obras citadas que me eram desconhecidas e uma vontade inquieta de ir arrumar as malas e arranjar minha próxima viagem (não necessariamente nessa ordem, claro).

Cada capítulo vem acompanhado de belas e coloridas ilustrações, lindas de olhar… mas, pessoalmente, eu as substituiria por mapas e roteiros detalhados de como chegar a cada local citado no texto. A falta dessas informações faz com que Literary Places seja mais um guia de curiosidades - com um texto bastante agradável de ler, seja dito -, que você usa como base para pesquisar e montar sua viagem.
