Teórico e subjetivo

"The last word in ignorance is the man who says of an animal or plant: What good is it? If the land mechanism as a whole is good, then every part is good, whether we understand it or not.”

A leitura foi bem mais densa do que eu esperava e acabei demorando um século para terminar de ler, mas no geral foi bem proveitosa. A primeira parte tem uma liberdade poética bem interessante e aos poucos vai ficando mais técnico.

Tive alguns momentos de discordância com o autor sempre que ele defendia a caça (e foram muitos capítulos), mas sempre criticando outros caçadores, ditando o que era uma caça legítima ou não, que transporte, que arma e que método usaram, etc., que para mim sempre tinha o mesmo peso negativo.

E como criticar alguém que caça, se ele já fez tanto pela conservação onde vive? Muito mais do que eu poderia sonhar em um dia fazer. Sem falar que ele era um visionário, antes mesmo de 1910 já protegendo a vida selvagem de onde vivia.
