Sim, é uma lenda. Aparentemente inspirado, lá atrás, no século VI, num personagem real. Mas com o tempo virou um romance, uma lenda, parte do folclore das ilhas britânicas. Como tantos outros heróis e messias, uma construção política e ideológica.

O 'livro' é bom pra quem queira as referências e ordem cronológica. Porém, certamente há obras acadêmicas bem melhores e úteis pra quem queira se aprofundar mais.
