Originally created for the X-Men: Evolution cartoon series by Craig Kyle, Laura Kinney, AKA X-23, soon made her way into Marvel's comicbooks. So impressed by the character, Marvel's then editor-in-chief Joe Quesada immediately gave her a guest spot in the series he was currently writing - NYX. Just over a year later, her origins would be revealed in the six-part X-23 series, written by Yost and Craig Kyle, with art by Billy Yan. A female clone of Wolverine, Laura was the latest attempt by the Weapon X programme to recreate their previous success.

A história da Laura é muito violênta e triste (repetindo e refletindo a historia de seu gêmeo genético/clone/pai Logan),
Acho que é a sobrevivência, e não o poder mortífero, que o DNA/essência de Wolverine tem de mais especial... Como se sobrevive a todo esse abuso, violência e traumas? Só sendo o melhor no que se faz, nesse caso, A melhor...
