Fernand Braudel
Fernand Braudel (Luméville-en-Ornois, 24 de agosto de 1902 — Cluses, 27 de novembro de 1985) foi um historiador francês e um dos mais importantes representantes da chamada "Escola dos Annales". Formado em História na Universidade de Sorbonne, começou sua carreira profissional na Argélia, onde permaneceu por dez anos, de 1923 até 1932. Na sua permanência lá, Braudel tem contato mais íntimo com o mar que inspirou um dos seu maiores trabalhos como estudioso da História: O Mediterrâneo e o Mundo Mediterrâneo na Época de Felipe II.
