Esse livro que NÃO é de história mostrou a história (sim, a história) do racismo de uma forma simples e completa. Eu já devia ter imaginado que, quando na sinopse diz que "explica a história do racismo na América" ela estava se referindo aos Estados Unidos.

Apesar de ter menções rápidas ao Haiti (AO HAITI!!! COM UMA DAS MELHORES HISTÓRIAS DE INDEPENDÊNCIA, UM EXEMPLO PERFEITO, UM MARCO DO MOVIMENTO ANTIRRACISTA NA ÉPOCA DA COLONIZAÇÃO!!) e uma menção ou duas sobre os escravos da América Central/do Sul, o livro não decepcionou, e me surpreendeu diversas vezes.

A linguagem era simples, divertida, acessível e atual, e entregou com perfeição a trajetória racista e antirracista dos Estados Unidos até os dias atuais. Eu ri, chorei e me arrepiei com alhuns trechos. Totalmente necessário, o eu com certeza vou reler.
