A new edition of Polish author Henryk Sienkiewicz's bestselling novel, Quo Vadis: A Narrative of the Time of Nero, originally published in 1896. Set in ancient Rome, Quo Vadis is the fictional story of a persecuted Christian woman and her romance with a Roman patrician, a sweeping tale that was a publishing sensation in its own day, contributing to its author's 1905 award of the Nobel Prize of Literature. Sienkiewicz's novel has also been the subject to several screen adaptations, including the 1951 film of the same name that is still considered to be a classic. This edition is based on the 1897 translation by Jeremiah Curtin (1835-1906).
