Esse livro marca o início de um novo momento na vida dos Clãs, em que cada um se estabelece em seu território, mesmo com dificuldades e intrigas entre os gatos. Como sempre ele foi muito bem escrito e resgatou fatos que aconteceram no passado, que trás uma sensação boa de contínuidade. Com tantos personagens, é um pouco difícil saber o que está acontecendo com cada um deles, mas a história foca em Leafpaw e Brambleclaw, e faz suas batalhas internas avançarem.
