An epic "what if?" historical novel, based around the idea that the plague has totally wiped out the European people, and that their places have been taken by people from Africa and the East. The ancestors of Copernicus, Columbus, Shakespeare, Einstein and Hitler have all perished, and the world is a very different place. The author is perhaps best known for the "Mars" trilogy.
