I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I was homeschooled through high school and graduated summa cum laude from the University of West Georgia with a BA in history and political science. After three years of teaching secondary English and history at an international school outside Madrid, Spain, I now live in Franklin, Tennessee, where I work as a bookseller. My academic writing focuses on religious practices in the Imperial Roman army and on pre-Augustinian Christian attitudes toward war and military service. Other areas of interest include the World Wars and Soviet/post-Soviet Eastern Europe, particularly Poland and Ukraine. I write historical fiction and fantasy, almost always dealing with social justice, religious faith and practice, and moral gray areas against a backdrop of war. My writing is represented by Jennie Kendrick of Red Fox Literary.
