um livro cru e necessário (lista de tw na resenha!)

é muito estranho descrever este livro assim, mas é impressionante como uma história que se passa nos anos 1920 é tão atual

muitas pessoas podem me chamar de maluca por isso, mas eu não conseguia parar de pensar em todas as situações próximas a guerra que estamos vivendo em 2020/2021 (literalmente uma década depois da guerra retratada no livro), e como os sentimentos se repetem

não tenho pontos negativos a respeito do livro, talvez eu defendesse que o último capítulo não fosse necessário, mas a última frase do livro justificou ele e trouxe mais um peso da guerra consigo

eu surtei no primeiro capítulo por causa de um quarto meu deus, isso já prova que a escrita do autor te prende
a estrutura desse livro é o que impede a narrativa de ser entediante (não senti isso em momento algum, mas pensei o tempo todo que se não fosse a alternância entre passado e presente, alguns fillers existiriam)
os personagens são absolutamente incríveis, e toda vez que algo acontecia com eles, meu coração doía mais

o livro é muito pesado e precisa de muitos avisos de gatilho (SÉRIO, não leia se violência explícita, homofobia, suicídio e traumas de guerra forem demais pra você), mas me fez entender muito sobre o tempo no qual eu vivo

o melhor livro do boyne que li até agora, devorado em poucos dias com uma escrita angustiante que não te deixa parar de ler
