Benedict von Schirach
Benedict Wells nasceu em 1984 em Munique, e aos seis anos frequentava já o seu primeiro – de três – colégios internos. Foi em 2003, ao mudar-se para Berlim, que decidiu dedicar-se à escrita, enquanto se ia sustentando com empregos diversos. O seu romance de estreia, Becks letzter Sommer, não tardou a ser premiado e adaptado ao cinema. A consagração definitiva chegou mais tarde com O Fim da Solidão, que demorou sete anos a escrever e é inspirado em factos da vida do autor. O Fim da Solidão é o seu quarto romance, e venceu o Prémio de Literatura da União Europeia. Até ao momento, foi traduzido para 30 línguas. Nas palavras do autor, que considera esta obra uma catarse, "Este foi o livro que eu tive de escrever. Os próximos são os livros que eu quero escrever. Agora sinto-te totalmente livre". Atualmente, após uma temporada em Barcelona, o autor divide o seu tempo entre Berlim e a Baviera.
