Leslie está pronta a receber sua herança, mas para isso acontecer, sua irmã Robinson que está presente. O problema é que sua irmã fugiu de casa e elas não se veem a mais de 10 anos.
Depois de alguns meses ela finalmente descobre o paradeiro de Robin. Qndo Leslie chega no apartamento de Robin, ela encontra Robin morta. Se Leslie tivesse chegado algumas horas antes teria evitado pior.
Leslie fica desesperada, pq a única condição para a herança é que Robin esteja presente. Ela pode entrar com processo e esperar e receber tudo, o problema é que Leslie precisa do dinheiro para agora, ela não pode mais esperar.

Qndo Leslie sai do apartamento ela encontra com Mary, uma mulher carismática e muito parecida com Robin. É então que Leslie tem a ideia é pede para Mary se passar por Robin e ficar com a metade da herança.

As duas tem conflitos enquanto moram juntas, Mary tenta descobrir mentiras e segredos sobre Leslie.

A história é contada em 3 pontos de vista, Leslie, Mary and Robin. As três personagens são bem problemáticas e não da para gostar delas. É
suspense lento, mas com umas reviravoltas boas. Eu já cansei de falar que minhas qualidades csi, sempre me atrapalham na leitura, pq todas reviravoltas eu descobri no começo do livro, ainda comentei com meu marido. Apesar de não ter me surpreendido, pq já estava esperando essas reviravoltas isso nunca interfere de gostar ou não de um livro. O livro é bom, eu só não gostei muito do final, mas no geral é bom.
