Decepcionante!

Eu amo tramas envolvendo viagens no tempo, mas essa aqui deixou a desejar. Parecia mais um resumão, do que uma história. Apesar de narrada em terceira pessoa, só é mostrado o ponto de vista da mocinha que, quando não está com o mocinho, está dormindo. Ou seja: não vemos nada acontecer, só ficamos sabendo. Perdemos toda a batalha, bem como os preparativos para ela. O amor instantâneo também me incomodou um pouco. Uma hora Gwen chorava por ter terminado o relacionamento de dois anos com o namorado com quem morava; Na outra, estava apaixonada por Andrew e não poderia mais viver sem ele. Falando no mocinho, Andrew parece ser muito fofo, mas não temos muita chance de conhecê-lo melhor, o que é uma pena. Talvez se tivéssemos um pouco mais de participação dele, o livro teria sido melhor.

Esse é o segundo livro da autora que leio e, igualzinho ao outro, temos aqui os mesmos detalhes que me incomodaram lá: narração em terceira pessoa que só mostra o lado da mocinha; mocinho fofo, mas que quase não aparece na história; romance que demora a acontecer, pois os primeiros capítulos focam só nos dramas da mocinha e, quando o romance finalmente acontece (e já lá pro final da história) é tudo muito rápido e instantâneo, se tornando pouco convincente. Se esse for um padrão da autora, Deus me ajude, porque tenho no meu Kindle nada mais, nada menos do que 35 livros dela (dos quais só li 2). Capas lindas com sinopses interessantíssimas. Tomara que os outros sejam melhores. Oremos!

Eu sei que <i>Into the Highlander's World</i> tem poucas páginas, mas, por exemplo, os livros da Julia Templeton <i>Kieran The Black</i> e <i>Now & Forever</i> são a prova de que dá para se contar uma história de viagem no tempo em poucas páginas, cheia de detalhes, mistério, ação e um romance arrebatador. Não é que essa história aqui tenha sido ruim. A trama tinha muito potencial para uma história maravilhosa, mas tivemos só um pequeno vislumbre dela. Uma pena, realmente!
