Begun by J.R.R. Tolkien at the end of the First World War, The Children of Húrin became the dominant story in his later work on Middle-earth. But he could not bring it to a final and finished form. In this book Christopher Tolkien has constructed, after long study of the manuscripts, a coherent narrative without any editorial invention.

Eu esperava tanto desse livro... li a história de Túrin pela primeira vez em "Contos Inacabados" e não poderia ter ficado mais contente quando descobri que "a versão completa e definitiva" da história seria lançada em breve como um livro à parte.O problema foi: a diferença entre a primeira versão e a definitiva é mínima - pequenas passagens foram alteradas, alguns erros editoriais corrigidos... nada importante o suficiente para justificar o lançamento de um novo livro. Com certeza é um item fantástico pros colecionadores de plantão, já que essa versão tem uns desenhos lindos e, afinal de contas, pequenas mudanças na narrativa CONTINUAM sendo mudanças na narrativa (e tem sempre um ser que gosta de ter todas as versões de tudo que já foi lançado, blá blá blá). Mas para qualquer outro que procure mudanças significativas na vida do pobre Túrin esse livro não vai valer o dinheiro pago.

Se você nunca leu o conto antes eu continuaria recomendando "Contos Inacabados" ao invés de "The Children of Húrin", já que você também teria acesso à outras histórias da Terra-Média (embora eu ache que a do Túrin é a mais legal =D)
