"How many detours, shortcuts and definitive changes of route can a woman take to find her way - and all because she adapts too early, falls too early on the tightrope of the moral code, defends herself against old perverts and if her servants - the mothers who want only the best for their daughters. And so she wastes a huge amount of time refraining from conforming to conventions. And then there is very little time left to correct fate.
