ALEXANDER DELACROIX grew up on a ranch high in the Rocky Mountains where he spent his free time writing stories, building forts, and hiking in the woods. In college, he majored in French, Russian, and German but ultimately became a junior high Language Arts teacher. He later earned two Masters degrees to support his longtime teaching habit. As a young man, Alex practiced karate, eventually achieving the ranks of 2nd degree black belt in Shotokan karate and 1st degree black belt in Kobudo (martial arts weapons). He has been an avid writer since 3rd grade. In fact, his junior high principal recognized this and encouraged Alex’s literary pursuits by asking him to write and illustrate a children’s book for a local elementary school. This handcrafted book was read by many young readers until, years later, the school returned the tattered remnants of the manuscript to Alex so he could keep it as a memento. He has pursued the dream of becoming a professional author ever since. The Impaler’s Shadow is his debut novel.
