Ethan é um vampiro muito antigo, que leva a vida (ou seria a morte?) como mercenário, e é conhecido no submundo como “Le Boucher Francais” - O Açougueiro Francês. Tris é um estudante de música que por muito tempo viveu em um relacionamento abusivo, e tem dificuldade de confiar em pessoas novas. Em um acaso do destino, seus caminhos se entrelaçam e a partir daí começa a história dos dois.

Tinha tudo pra ser um livro sensacional, mas foi apenas ‘bom’. Acredito que a palavra certa para descrever esse livro seria ‘frustrante’, e tenho total compreensão de que isso pode ter sido causado por expectativas erradas de minha parte.

Aconteceram muitas coisas durante a história, e sempre que eu achava que teria um desenrolar interessante, os problemas se resolviam rapidamente, sem dificuldade ou consequências ruins para os protagonistas.
Eu basicamente fiquei o livro inteiro esperando um ‘algo a mais’, que nunca aconteceu. Não houve altos e baixos durante a narrativa, ela começou e terminou em linha reta, sem grandes emoções.
Enfim, é um livro muito fofinho, mesmo com a quantidade imensa de cenas hot, e tem uma escrita muito fluida.

Porém, sigo com a sensação de que o potencial da história foi desperdiçado.
